Participatory Development Training Centre (PADETC) is a group of Lao who are about the future of the Lao people and are working to improve the livelihood of communities in a just and sustainable way. Founded in 1996, it is designing and implementing alternative models of development. PADETC provides many kinds of training, promoting participatory processes for sustainable development - development with a balance between economic development, social development, and environmental harmony.

PADETC conducts training programmes on sustainable development, renewable energy, food production. It also engages in video production and public awareness activities. PADETC became a Video Research Centre partner of TVEAP in 1996.

In recognition of its accomplishments, PADETC was awarded the 2001 Human Resource Development Award by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP). PADETC builds the capacity of Lao television producers and works with a network of local level television stations.
